Diocese of Pueblo Mission Statement
The Office for the Diocesan Liaison of the Charismatic Renewal seeks to support both Spanish and English language prayer groups to grow in the experience and life in the Baptism in the Holy Spirit by:

  • Renewing prayer groups with refining the focus on the original understanding and processes of the Charismatic Renewal
  • Establishing authentic Catholic teaching on the Charismatic Renewal in leadership
  • Placing prayer groups under the spiritual authority of the parish pastors
  • Training leaders in pastoral skills
  • Uniting the Renewal by convening prayer groups in Diocese-wide event.

The Bishop of the Diocese of Pueblo recognizes the Catholic Charismatic Renewal as an important partner in ministry in the Diocese.  To this end, Bishop Fernando Isern has established the Diocesan Liaison for the Charismatic Renewal as a part of the diocesan structure and named Fr. Donald P. Malin as one of two liaisons in the diocesan directory.

The role of the liaison is to oversee the prayer groups of the Charismatic Renewal, providing them pastoral guidance, and bringing their concerns to the Bishop, as well as his concerns to the Charismatic Renewal.

The Pueblo Diocesan Liaison networks with the liaisons in the other two dioceses of the state of Colorado to coordinate ministries between the three dioceses.  The means of networking evolved into what is now called the Colorado Catholic Charismatic Committee (C-4).  Fr. Malin is the current coordinator of the C-4.

Because the Diocese of Pueblo is invested in developing ministries in Spanish and English, the Diocesan Liaison offers events, teachings and support to both Spanish language and English language prayer groups.  There are currently two Spanish language prayer groups and four English language prayer groups that are recognized and recommended in the Diocese.

If you would like to have a Charismatic teaching or liturgical event at your prayer group, please contact Fr. Don at the link at the bottom of this page
